Banwarilal Purohit renuncia como gobernador de Punjab, citando “razones personales”

Mr. Purohit wrote a letter to the President, urging him to consider it. In August, he wrote to the Chief Minister warning him of the possibility of recommending President’s rule in the state and initiating criminal proceedings if his letters were not responded to. In a recent communication to Mr. Mann, Governor Purohit reiterated his lack of response to previous letters and warned that he could report a “failure of constitutional mechanism” to the President.

Mr. Mann, in response, accused the Governor of “threatening the peace-loving people” of the state and emphasized that law and order are under complete control.
