Apple Vision Pro Teardown Reveals How EyeSight Feature Displays Wearer’s Eyes admin, February 5, 2024 The Apple Vision Pro’s external display features three layers that enable the 3D effect. Specifically, the display uses an advanced EyeSight feature to show a 3D version of the wearer’s eyes. However, due to the multiple layers, the display may appear dimmer and blurrier. The Apple Vision Pro, a spatial computer recently released in the US, utilizes the advanced EyeSight display consisting of several videos of the wearer’s eyes. A teardown of the headset reveals that the three layers within the glass shell enable the 3D stereoscopic effect for displaying the wearer’s eyes. This also explains the dimmer appearance compared to Apple’s promotional videos. In addition to the OLED screen, the Vision Pro is equipped with a lenticular layer and a widening layer, which combined result in the 3D effect. This method involves displaying images of the face from small angles for the left and right eyes, leading to a reduced resolution and resulting in a blurred display. The combination of layers also reduces the visibility of the wearer’s eyes and limits the viewing angles. Ifixit has shared a video demonstrating the OLED display under the layers, showing some artifacts at the edges of the screen, which are only visible when the other layers are removed. For more information, the detailed teardown post provides additional insights into the Vision Pro’s external display. Apple Vision Pro
