“It’s Raining Grammys For India” – AR Rahman’s Selfie With Zakir Hussain, Shankar Mahadevan

The image of *As We Speak*, which belongs to the *Pashto* band, was shared on Instagram. The band won the Best Contemporary Instrumental Album award. Indian music composer and former Grammy winner Ricky Kej congratulated the band by sharing a video of their acceptance speech at the Grammys. He lauded the achievement of the album *SHAKTI* and the four brilliant Indian musicians Shankar Mahadevan, V Selvaganesh Vinayakram, Ganesh Rajagopalan, and Ustad Zakir Hussain.

Ustad Zakir Hussain also won a second Grammy along with virtuoso flute player Rakesh Chaurasia. AR Rahman was also highlighted for winning two Grammy Awards in 2010 – Best Compilation Soundtrack for a Motion Picture (for *Slumdog Millionaire*) and Best Motion Picture Song (for *Jai Ho*). Additionally, in the same year, he was honored with the Padma Bhushan for his contribution to Indian music and cinema. Notably, Taylor Swift won Best Pop Vocal Album and Miley Cyrus won Best Pop Solo Performance.
