MP Nursing Scam: High Court Cracks Down on Fake Nursing, CBI to Investigate 200 More Nursing Colleges

During this time, the High Court was informed that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has only investigated 364 nursing colleges, while in the last three years, more than 700 nursing colleges have opened in Madhya Pradesh. Therefore, the petitioner Vishal Baghel has also demanded an investigation of the remaining colleges.

Along with this, photos of newly opened fake nursing colleges in the session 2022-23 were also presented to the High Court, on which the Special Bench of Justices Sanjay Dwivedi and Achal Kumar Paliwal expressed strong displeasure and astonishment, directing the government to take action against those granting recognition to ineligible colleges and to respond to about 50 applications for hearings on the public interest petition of Vishal Baghel, president of the Nursing Fake Case Law Student Association. The High Court has also verbally commented that if necessary, it will assess the situation on its own at the scene.

At the same time, they requested time to rectify the shortcomings found in the colleges with minor deficiencies. They also proposed the formation of a special committee to recommend the closure of institutions with severe deficiencies, forming a committee by appointing the chairperson and director of the Medical Sciences University and the deans of two medical colleges to request a full report on the entire matter, based on which action can be taken against fake institutions.

Meanwhile, the Advocate General, on behalf of the Medical Science University, demanded permission from the court to conduct the postponed exams of BSc Nursing, on which the court said to consider the matter during the next date of hearing.
