Rajasthan to Soon Implement UCC Law, Bhajan Lal Government to Pass Bill After Discussion in Assembly admin, February 6, 2024 The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has been implemented in the state of Uttarakhand, and preparations are underway to slowly implement it in other Bharatiya Janata Party-led states. The Rajasthan government is showing progress in preparations in this matter. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma is reportedly the most supportive of the UCC and is expected to implement it in the state soon. Cabinet Minister Kanhaiya Lal Choudhary is also in support of the UCC and has thanked the Uttarakhand government for implementing it, expressing the hope that Rajasthan will be the next state to adopt it. People of India are eagerly awaiting the implementation of the UCC in Rajasthan after it became the first state to implement it. The Chief Minister’s aggressive support and direction are expected to lead the way for its passage in Rajasthan. Discussions on the UCC are expected to take place in the current session, and if time is insufficient, it will be brought up in the next session. However, it is certain to be passed in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, Cabinet Minister Kirodi Lal Meena has also expressed his opinion, stating that the UCC is an important law and should be implemented in Rajasthan. The implementation of the UCC in Goa sets it as the first state in India to adopt it, while Uttarakhand becomes the first state in this matter post-independence.
