Hemant Soren: Investigators Say BMW Car Found At Hemant Soren’s is Not His. It Belongs To… admin, February 8, 2024 The car, according to sources, is registered in the name of a firm owned by Dhiraj Prasad Sahu, who is a Congress Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand. Premises associated with Mr. Sahu were raided by Income Tax officials in December. During the raid, they recovered Rs 351 crore in cash. The visuals of tax officials counting the large sum of money were widely televised, leading to criticism from the BJP against the Congress. In response, the Opposition party distanced itself from the cash recovery, asserting that the party was not involved. Mr. Sahu stressed that the money belonged to his firm, which was in the liquor business, and had no connection with the Congress. It took 10 days to count the recovered cash, with 40 currency counting machines pressed into action for the task. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned the Congress MP for questioning on Saturday regarding his car, which was found at Mr. Soren’s residence. Mr. Soren, who was arrested last week, is under investigation in connection with an alleged racket involving the illegal change of land ownership by mafia in Jharkhand. He denied the allegations against him and accused the BJP of using probe agencies to destabilize democratically elected governments. ED officials found the BMW car during a raid at Mr. Soren’s Delhi home on January 29. The blue SUV has a Haryana license plate. Jharkhand Politics
