Man Arrested by Police On Camera with Severed Head of Wife

Scores of commuters witnessed a horrifying scene in which Anil, a mason from Barabanki, was seen holding the head of his wife in one hand and a knife in the other. Anil had beheaded his wife after suspecting her of having an extramarital relationship. The couple had been living separately for eight years and had two children. Anil was arrested at the scene.

In a separate incident, a 40-year-old man, Goutam Guchhait from West Bengal, was witnessed near a bus stop with the severed head of his wife. Guchhait had beheaded his wife due to family-related problems. Videos taken by locals showed him with the head in one hand and a sickle in the other, making vague remarks to the gathered crowd. He was arrested by the police an hour later.

It is also known that Guchhait’s family had previously claimed he was mentally unstable after an incident in 2021, where he jumped into a lion’s enclosure at the Alipore Zoo in Kolkata.
