Robert Vadra’s Thoughts on Taking Political Role: “If I Contest From Amethi…

Robert Vadra, the husband of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, hinted his readiness to join politics “if people want” during an exclusive interview. He mentioned receiving calls of support from party workers across the country, including Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. Mr. Vadra expressed that he is gaining party workers’ support from various parts of the country to actively engage in politics, emphasizing that his posters have started appearing elsewhere as people recognize and appreciate the hard work he has put in so far.

Amethi had been a stronghold for the Gandhi family for a long time before Smriti Irani won the seat in 2019. Mr. Vadra believes that it is time for the people of Amethi to rectify the “mistake” they made by electing Smriti Irani five years back. He stated their desire to have the option of correcting their previous choice and expressed confidence that they will ensure his victory by a significant margin if he contests.

Despite past unsubstantiated allegations from Smriti Irani, Mr. Vadra noted that he would not fight to challenge someone. He also mentioned that he is ready to provide full support if Rahul Gandhi decides to contest the elections from Amethi, adding that he does not necessarily need to be in active politics to interact with the people, as they could always meet him, in case Rahul or Priyanka are not available. The 55-year-old businessman from Moradabad shared his thoughts during the interview and highlighted his stance on potential political involvement.
