5 towers in Gurugram society ‘Chintels Paradiso’ deemed unsafe and scheduled for demolition. admin, April 9, 2024 The Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav issued an order on Monday permitting the demolition of towers D, E, F, G, and H of Chintels Paradiso residential society. The permission was granted in response to an email from the builder requesting the immediate evacuation of these towers for demolition. The decision was based on audit reports from an IIT Delhi team, which declared the towers unsafe for habitation. This action followed a partial collapse of six floors of Tower D on February 10, 2022, resulting in the death of two women residents. The builder’s request was discussed by a committee, headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Hitesh Kumar Meena and representatives of concerned departments. The demolition permission was given under the condition of compliance with the policy and guidelines of the relevant departments. It was clarified that the permission did not provide immunity from any other applicable state/central laws, acts, or policies related to the demolition work. The builder was also warned of being solely responsible for any lapses, mishappenings, or carelessness at the site, with relevant actions to be taken accordingly. Additionally, the builder was required to submit fortnightly reports along with compliances to the concerned authorities. Mr. Meena confirmed the issuance of the demolition order.
