Ajit Pawar proposes the election of Sharad Pawar’s daughter-in-law from Baramati.

Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate, is running against her sister-in-law and sitting Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule, the daughter of Sharad Pawar, in the Baramati Lok Sabha seat in Pune district. Sule is the candidate of NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar). Baramati, which is the home turf of the Pawar family, is where Ajit Pawar, a member of the Legislative Assembly, represents.

At a party workers’ program in Baramati, the deputy CM, who leads the ruling NCP, addressed the dilemma facing supporters in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, where they have to choose between two candidates from the same family. He advised the supporters to vote for Sunetra Pawar to maintain the tradition of supporting the family. He reminded them of the past elections where they had elected the son, the father, and the daughter, implying that now they should elect the daughter-in-law to balance things.

He also expressed his displeasure at the lack of support from family members in previous elections and cautioned them not to push him to speak openly about it. The elections for the 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra will be conducted in five phases from April 19 to May 20, with polling in Baramati scheduled for May 7.
