Thousands of fans were misled by a recent social media post alleging that Netflix had launched a feature to remove sex scenes. The false excitement arose from Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan mentioning a PG cut of the show for her parents. However, the enthusiasm surged when content creator Soren Iverson shared an image on X implying the introduction of the feature for all viewers. The post, which featured a cleverly edited image of the show accompanied by the caption “Skip the foreplay, literally,” garnered widespread attention.

It purported to make family movie nights less awkward by deleting explicit scenes from Bridgerton. The image and caption generated significant engagement, with 27 million views and comments expressing relief and support for the supposed feature. However, it was later revealed that the feature was a fabrication and did not actually exist. Despite the excitement, viewers will still need to rely on their existing strategies for navigating intimate scenes while watching with family.

The “Skip the Foreplay” feature turned out to be nothing more than a hoax. Following the widespread attention, Mr Iverson clarified the situation in a subsequent post, acknowledging the unexpected attention and humorously redirecting followers to his other content.
