A wholesale and retail ice vendor made a shocking discovery when they found a dead rodent sticking out of a frozen rat hole in an ice block. This ice vendor supplies ice blocks to various establishments, including factories, hotels, restaurants, and street vendors selling a variety of chilled drinks and desserts. The vendor and others were disturbed by the discovery and took photos and videos, which quickly spread on social media and sparked outrage among the public. Many people have pointed fingers at the district officials, state Food and Drugs Administration, and other concerned agencies for their alleged negligence, especially during the high demand for ice and ice-based foods in the summer.

Angered by the incident, locals have demanded immediate raids and inspections to ensure that health and hygiene standards are being followed. This discovery comes shortly after a separate incident where samosas were found to be contaminated with used condom packs, tobacco, pebbles, and sand at the staff canteen of an automobile company. The police have taken action in response to the samosa incident, booking five individuals from an external private food caterer, with one person arrested and in custody pending further investigation.
