MK Stalin’s Twist On PM Modi’s ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ in Tamil Nadu’s Lok Sabha Election 2024

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin recently made critical remarks towards the Prime Minister, comparing his visits to the state to migratory birds. In a social media post, he called out the Prime Minister’s election-time appearances and demanded guarantees on various issues such as reservation for Scheduled Castes and Tribes, employment opportunities, reduction in fuel prices, and MSP for farmers. The Chief Minister also expressed opposition to certain BJP policies and laws. Stalin reiterated that the promises made by his party in their manifesto were based on the feedback and demands of the people, rather than being solely a DMK manifesto.

Some of the commitments included reducing fuel prices, scrapping the Uniform Civil Code, and providing 33% reservation for women in Parliament and Assemblies. He also took jabs at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and addressed the controversy involving his son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, in his speeches. The results of the recent election are set to be announced on June 4, with the DMK-Congress alliance expected to perform strongly based on their success in the 2019 elections, where they secured 38 out of 39 seats in the state.
