Beant Singh’s Son Running for Election in Punjab to Succeed Indira Gandhi’s Assassin admin, April 11, 2024 Sarabjit Singh Khalsa, a Class XII dropout, is the son of Beant Singh, one of the individuals responsible for the assassination of the late Prime Minister. In both 2009 and 2014, Khalsa unsuccessfully ran for Lok Sabha seats from Fatehgarh Sahib and Bathinda, respectively. In 2019, he represented the Bahujan Samaj Party. The late Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, was assassinated on October 31, 1984, by Beant Singh and Satwant Singh, who were her bodyguards at the time. In the 2014 election affidavit, Khalsa declared assets amounting to Rs 3.5 crore. Additionally, his mother, Bimal Kaur, and grandfather, Sucha Singh, both served as Members of Parliament from Ropar and Bathinda in 1989.
