Challenged Boy Reunites With Parents In Mumbai Thanks to Pendant With QR Code

A child was found wandering in Colaba in the southern part of the city on Thursday afternoon, according to an official. The child seemed unable to communicate coherently with those who approached him, raising concerns that he may be lost and in distress. After being brought to a policeman, an alert about a missing person was sent to all police stations, but to no avail. An alert police personnel discovered a pendant around the child’s neck with a QR (quick response) code inside.

When scanned, the code revealed a phone number belonging to an NGO that works with mentally unwell children. A representative from the NGO informed the police that the child was a resident of Worli, and his parents had been searching for him since morning. The child was later reunited with his father at the police station, providing great relief to the officials involved. It was a positive outcome to see the child safely back with his parents.
