Mentally Challenged Boy Reunites with Parents in Mumbai Thanks to Pendant with QR Code

The child was spotted wandering in Colaba in the southern part of the city on Thursday afternoon. According to an official, the child was unable to communicate cohesively to people who approached him, indicating that he may be lost and in distress.

One person brought the child to a policeman, but sending alerts about a missing person to all police stations yielded no results. However, a police officer found a pendant around the child’s neck with a QR code inside.

Scanning the code revealed a phone number belonging to an NGO that works with mentally unwell children. A representative from the NGO informed the police that the child was a resident of Worli and that his parents had been searching for him since morning.

The child was later reunited with his father at the police station. The official expressed relief that the child was safely returned to his parents, stating, “It was a great relief to us that we could get the child safely back with his parents.”
