Video: Pakistani Soldiers Beat Police In Station After Raid On Army Officer

Multiple video clips of a dramatic incident surfaced showing army officers allegedly assaulting and beating up policemen in Bahawalnagar, Pakistan. In one clip, police officers in uniform were made to kneel on the ground by army personnel and were seen pleading for mercy.

In another clip, two young uniformed cops were seen attempting to escape but were ultimately caught by the army personnel. The incident reportedly stemmed from the illegal detention of three civilians by Punjab police personnel, who were allegedly demanding money for their release.

This led to a police raid on the residence of an army officer, which further escalated tensions. As a result, senior police officers were quoted as confirming that the policemen were tortured during the subsequent army raid on a police station.

In response to the incident, four policemen were suspended and arrested under different sections of the Pakistan Penal Code. However, the Punjab police released a statement claiming that the incident had been taken out of context and exaggerated, with allegations of fighting between the police and army being refuted.
