Virat Kohli Recalls Bitter Rivalry With Australia Pacer in “Isko Main Itna Maarunga…” Incident

Virat Kohli was the top-scorer for the Indian side in the four-match Test series, accumulating 692 runs. This left him behind Australia’s Steve Smith, who scored 769 runs.

Kohli’s performance began with a century in each innings of the first Test at Adelaide Oval. Although he didn’t replicate this success in the next game at The Gabba in Brisbane, he made a strong comeback with centuries in both the third and fourth Test matches in Melbourne and Sydney respectively.

During the first match of the tour, Kohli recalled being hit on the head by the very first ball from Johnson. This unexpected blow altered his plans and he continued to play despite the swelling and vision troubles.

Kohli expressed his determination to retaliate and mentioned that he fulfilled this promise. Kohli was the stand-in captain for the first game in the absence of Dhoni, who later returned for the second and third matches before retiring from the format.

Following Dhoni’s retirement, Kohli was appointed as the full-time Test skipper for India from the fourth match against Australia.
