Adhir Chowdhury’s Confrontation with “Drunk” Man on a Busy Road Caught on Video

Mr Chowdhury, who is seeking re-election from the constituency, accused the Trinamool Congress of orchestrating a ploy to hinder his campaign. He alleged that this practice was initiated by the ruling party during last year’s civic polls. Mr Chowdhury stated that the local TMC was behind the scheme and aimed to discourage people from supporting the Congress party.

According to Mr Chowdhury, he encountered resistance from a group, which he believes was organized by the TMC. He asserted that despite their efforts, he would not be deterred. He reported the incident to the district superintendent of police and sought intervention.

In response to Mr Chowdhury’s allegations, the Trinamool Congress labeled his actions in Baharampur as “hooliganism.” They accused him of using muscle power to intimidate their party workers, emphasizing that his fear of losing the elections was evident. The TMC has nominated former Indian cricketer Yusuf Pathan to contest against Mr Chowdhury in the Baharampur Lok Sabha constituency, which Mr Chowdhury has represented since 1999.
