Indian-Origin Woman Charged for Terror Threats in US: “We’ll Murder You

Ms Patel made threatening statements during two separate speeches at a city council meeting. In the first speech, she directed threats towards officials for not backing a ceasefire resolution for the Israel-Hamas conflict. Video footage from the meeting captured her alarming statements, where she expressed her desire for “oppressed minorities” to “guillotine” the city’s officials and invoked the name of Jesus Christ in her threats.

She made further threats in her subsequent address, criticizing the installation of additional security measures at the government building and characterizing them as attempts to “criminalize” protesters. Ms Patel’s threats led to swift action from Mayor Karen Goh, who indicated to police officers present that action needed to be taken. Ms Patel was then escorted out of the chambers and taken into custody by the police.

The Bakersfield Police have stated that she faces 16 felony counts, including threatening with intent to terrorize and targeting city officials.
