Iran-Israel Conflict: Iran Threatens to Attack Israel Within 24 Hours, US Sends Warships to Assist Ally

The US has taken the precautionary measure of moving its warships, fearing a potential attack on Israel by Iran. Reports have indicated that US intelligence assessments suggest the retaliation could occur as early as Sunday and could potentially lead to an all-out regional war. US President Joe Biden has warned Israel of the likelihood of an imminent strike from Iran, while also cautioning Iran against initiating an attack. One of the main scenarios anticipated by Israel and its allies involves an assault from Iranian soil, possibly in the form of a bombardment with drones and precision missiles.

There are reports suggesting that this attack could occur within the next 24 hours. The Defense Intelligence Agency’s assessment highlights Iran’s capabilities, citing their significant inventory of ballistic and cruise missiles capable of reaching targets up to 2,000 kilometers away. In response, the US has bolstered its military assets in the region by moving Navy destroyers to the Eastern Mediterranean Sea and increasing diplomatic efforts to mitigate hostilities. The region has been on edge since Israel’s offensive against Palestine’s militant group Hamas, which has prompted the US to engage in diplomatic efforts with Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and other governments.

In addition, General Michael Kurilla, the head of US Central Command, has been dispatched to Israel for urgent discussions on the Iranian threat. Tensions between the two countries intensified following an Israeli airstrike on the Iran consulate in Damascus, prompting Iran to declare its readiness for war and a retaliatory action against Israel. Consequently, Israel has heightened its state of alert, canceling combat troops’ home leave, mobilizing reserves, and fortifying its air defenses.
