Jagan Reddy Injured In Andhra Pradesh Stone-Throwing During Campaign Rally

The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh was hit by a stone above his left eyebrow, narrowly missing his eye, and required two stitches, reports said. It was reported that the stone was thrown from a nearby school according to sources from the party. A member of the YSRCP claimed that the attack was a conspiracy by the TDP alliance and stated, “Chandrababu Naidu’s nervousness is showing.”

A video of the incident showed the chief minister standing atop a vehicle, greeting crowds along the road. The video then shows him holding his hand up to his left eye, followed by a person dabbing his left eyebrow with a cloth. After this, the chief minister greeted the crowd with folded hands before boarding a bus.

Elections are scheduled for the 175-member Andhra Pradesh Assembly and the 25 Lok Sabha seats on May 13. In 2019, the YSRCP had won 151 Assembly seats and 22 Lok Sabha constituencies. The ruling party is now facing a challenge from an alliance of the TDP, BJP, and the Jana Sena.
