The reason for Shikhar Dhawan not leading Punjab Kings (PBKS) against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2024 game was revealed by star PBKS all-rounder Sam Curran. He stepped in for the toss with RR’s Sanju Samson in Dhawan’s absence, and RR won the toss, choosing to bowl first.

Curran disclosed that Dhawan had picked up a minor injury, leading to his absence. He mentioned that despite the setback, PBKS had good balance and exciting players, with Atharva Taide coming in for Dhawan and Liam Livingstone making a return.
