President Biden has emphasized the US commitment to Israel’s security against threats from Iran and its proxies. US forces have been actively intercepting drones launched by Iran towards Israel and are prepared to provide additional defensive support. In response to the attacks, President Biden spoke with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the phone. Netanyahu stated that Israel will respond strongly to the attack, having prepared for a direct attack by Iran for years.
