Salman Khan Firing Case Decoded: Planned in the US, Executed in Mumbai

The shooting incident outside Salman Khan’s home in Mumbai originated from a scheme developed in the US. Two men on a motorcycle fired four rounds outside the actor’s residence early on a Sunday morning and fled the scene. Security camera footage showed the attackers firing towards the actor’s home.

Police sources revealed that the suspects are linked to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, with one of them claiming responsibility for the incident on Facebook, although the IP address was traced back to Canada. The gang is known for its network of professional shooters and maintains a ready supply of weapons across multiple states in India. The key figure in the Bishnoi gang, Godara, is believed to have facilitated the provision of weapons to the shooters and is associated with previous high-profile cases.

One of the suspects, Vishal, is wanted in connection with a previous murder and was identified as a prime candidate for the shooting due to his past involvement in violent incidents orchestrated by Godara. The suspects purchased a second-hand bike from Raigad district to reach Mr. Khan’s residence and travelled from Panvel to Mumbai on that bike. The police are investigating the sale of this bike and questioning individuals involved.

It was noted that the police vehicle usually stationed outside Mr. Khan’s house was absent on the morning of the incident. A coordinated effort involving police from five states has been initiated to apprehend those involved. Additionally, Mr. Khan’s security status has been escalated, with 11 security personnel, including commandos and Personal Security Officers, accompanying him at all times.

An Indian student in the UK was issued a lookout circular for allegedly sending a threatening email to Mr. Khan. Both the Maharashtra ATS and the National Investigation Agency have requested detailed information about the case from the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police. The case has been transferred from local police to the crime branch, but there has been no communication or request to transfer the case to the ATS or NIA.

The security measures for Mr. Khan are currently under review, following another threat call made last year.
