US Teacher Faces Sex Abuse Charges After Being Found Undressed in Car with Student

A married substitute teacher in Nebraska was arrested on one count of felony sexual abuse by a school employee. The incident occurred when she was found undressed in the backseat of a car with a 17-year-old student from the high school where she worked.

Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle and found the teacher and the student in the backseat of a Honda sedan. The student was later found in a nearby neighborhood wearing only underwear and a T-shirt.

The teacher confessed to having sex with the student and was subsequently arrested and booked into jail. The vehicle involved in the incident belonged to the teacher and her spouse.

Both the teacher and the student received minor medical attention following the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is working closely with Omaha Public Schools.

The school released a statement from Burke’s principal regarding the arrest, stating that the teacher will not be returning to their school or any others in the district. Counsellors will be available for students in need of support.

In a separate incident, Jessica Sawicki, a 37-year-old English teacher at Hamilton High School West in Trenton, has been charged with five counts of second-degree sexual assault and five counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
