Anand Mahindra Praises Israel’s Air Defence System for More Than Just the Iron Dome

Mr. Mahindra’s post has garnered more than 2.5 million views. Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of Mahindra Group, known for his influential online presence, recently commended Israel’s rapid response to Iran’s missile and drone attack.

He urged India to develop a similar air defense system. Israel employed a multi-layered defense shield, including the short-range Iron Dome and the long-range Arrow-2 and Arrow-3 missiles, to thwart Iran’s mass drone and missile attack on Israeli territory last Saturday.

Emphasizing the importance of possessing a robust defense interception system in today’s geopolitical landscape, Mr. Mahindra shared his insights on Israel’s defense capabilities on Sunday. He reshared a tweet discussing the Iron Dome and highlighted Israel’s longer distance interception system called David’s Sling, alongside the Arrow 2 and 3 systems.

He also mentioned the in-progress development of the Iron Beam, which will utilize lasers for defense. “Today, possessing ironclad defense interception systems is as important as a cache of offensive weaponry.

We in India must step up our focus on and spending in that direction,” he added. His post sparked a discussion among social media users.

One user noted the support of the USA, France, UK, and other countries for Israel, supplying weapons and assisting in intercepting and bringing down missiles and drones of Iran. Another expressed the need to invest more in defense R&D to prepare for future warfare, praising the current government’s initiatives in this direction.
