AAP MP Sanjay Singh raised concerns over the treatment of Mr. Kejriwal during his imprisonment, alleging that he was being subjected to unfair treatment, including restricted visits with family members and constant surveillance. Mr. Singh, who was previously arrested in a money laundering case linked to Delhi’s liquor policy, highlighted the challenges faced by Mr. Kejriwal in his current legal battle. He also criticized the discriminatory treatment Mr. Kejriwal is allegedly facing in detention. Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Chief Minister and AAP leader, also expressed dismay over the treatment Mr. Kejriwal is receiving in jail, asserting that he is being deprived of basic facilities and compared to a “hardcore criminal” despite his contributions to education, healthcare, and public welfare programs. In response, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari refuted the accusations by AAP, stating that they are not labeling Mr. Kejriwal as a terrorist, but rather as corrupt and an opponent of Delhi’s interests. He emphasized that the law must take its course in Mr. Kejriwal’s legal proceedings, and highlighted his alleged shortcomings in addressing the needs of the people. Delhi Politics
