Assets of Bengal BJP Chief Surge 114% Since 2019, Report Reveals admin, April 16, 2024 The assets of BJP’s state president Sukanta Majumdar, who is running for re-election from the Balurghat seat, have seen a 114 per cent increase since 2019, according to a report. This analysis was conducted by the West Bengal Election Watch and the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) by analyzing the self-sworn affidavits of all 47 candidates contesting from three constituencies of West Bengal – Darjeeling, Balurghat, and Raiganj – which are scheduled for polls in the second phase on April 26. During the 2019 elections, Mr. Bista had declared assets worth over Rs 15 crore in his affidavit. His current election affidavit shows assets worth Rs 47 crore, representing an increase of over Rs 32 crore.
