Bengal BJP Chief’s Assets Soared by 114% Since 2019, Report Reveals admin, April 16, 2024 The assets of BJP’s state president Sukanta Majumdar, who is seeking re-election from the Balurghat seat, have seen a significant increase since 2019. According to a report from West Bengal Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), his assets recorded a 114 per cent rise. This analysis was based on the self-sworn affidavits of all 47 candidates contesting from three constituencies of West Bengal – Darjeeling, Balurghat, and Raiganj – which are going to polls in the second phase on April 26. The report revealed that Mr. Bista, based on his affidavit filed during the 2019 elections, had assets worth over Rs 15 crore. However, in the current election’s affidavit, he declared assets worth Rs 47 crore, marking an increase of over Rs 32 crore.
