Influencer Jailed for Starving Newborn Son to Death by Feeding Only Sunlight

A Russian influencer named Maxim Lyutyi has been sentenced to eight years in prison for the death of his one-month-old son, Kosmos. Lyutyi believed that exposing the baby to sunlight would give him superhuman abilities, but tragically, the infant died of malnutrition and pneumonia while being rushed to the hospital in Sochi. Lyutyi’s refusal to let the boy’s mother go to a maternity hospital led to Kosmos being born at home, after which he was put on a strictly vegan “prana” diet, with a focus on foods believed to enhance spiritual energy.

Reports emerged that Lyutyi rejected traditional medical care and even subjected Kosmos to cold baths in an attempt to strengthen the baby, as he believed. The influencer wanted to experiment with feeding the baby solely with sunlight and then promote this to others. Lyutyi’s now ex-girlfriend, Oksana Mironova, was secretly trying to breastfeed the baby, fearing Maxim’s reactions.

She repeatedly tried to leave him, but Lyutyi held her back. When Lyutyi finally agreed to let his baby go to the hospital, it was too late – Kosmos died before they arrived. Lyutyi and Mironova were arrested, and Lyutyi confessed to killing his son at his final court hearing.

He now faces more than eight years in prison for ‘intentional infliction of serious bodily harm.’ During his imprisonment, Lyutyi has abandoned his previous beliefs and even started consuming meat. The family of the baby’s mother expressed regret and revealed that Oksana lived like a guinea pig under Maxim’s control.

Both prosecutors and family members seek justice for the tragic death of Kosmos.
