US Response to PM Narendra Modi’s Remark About Terrorists Being Killed in Their Homes

The US has encouraged India and Pakistan to avoid escalation and find a resolution through dialogue. The US Justice Department has charged an Indian national, Nikhil Gupta, with the murder-for-hire of a prominent figure. It was also revealed that an Indian government employee had allegedly recruited Gupta to hire a hitman, a plot that was foiled by US authorities. India formed a committee to investigate the allegations of the foiled assassination plot.

Prime Minister Modi highlighted the decisions made by his government, including the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, during a public rally. He emphasized the strong stance of his government on national security and measures taken against terrorism. India has repeatedly asserted its stance on cross-border terrorism, stating that it cannot ignore terrorism to improve relations with Islamabad.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized that Pakistan needs to act decisively against cross-border terrorism and that India is ready to provide assistance in combatting terrorism if Pakistan is willing to take clear actions against it. Rajnath Singh also made it clear in an interview that India is committed to combating terrorism and will take necessary measures to prevent terrorists from operating within its borders. He also alluded to the possibility of actions being taken across the border, indicating that the situation will be closely monitored.
