RCB Requested to Field 11 Batsmen with Virat Kohli’s Significant Role Change in IPL 2024

On Monday night, RCB faced their sixth defeat in seven games, losing to SRH by 25 runs. SRH achieved a record for the highest total in IPL history with 287/3, surpassing their previous record of 277 set against Mumbai Indians.

Srikkanth commented on RCB’s performance, suggesting that they should play with all 11 batters, particularly at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. He also mentioned that Virat Kohli could have bowled better than those who leaked the 287 runs in the match.

Srikkanth further criticized the performance of certain bowlers, stating that Reece Topley and Lockie Ferguson struggled, while praising Will Jacks as RCB’s best bowler. He suggested unconventional bowling options, such as asking Faf du Plessis to bowl 2 overs and giving Cameron Green 4 overs.

Srikkanth expressed sympathy for Virat Kohli, observing that he seemed upset while watching balls fly out of the stadium. RCB entered the match without a specialist spinner, and their inexperienced bowling lineup, including pace bowlers Reece Topley, Yash Dayal, Lockie Ferguson, and Vijaykumar Vyshak, was taken for 137 off ten overs.

SRH hit 22 sixes, setting another IPL record, while RCB managed 16 of their own. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s T20 batting performance was particularly noteworthy, hitting a total of 41 boundaries in the innings, with Chris Gayle contributing 30 of those boundaries.
