Terrorists in J&K Carry Out Targeted Attack, Killing Migrant Worker From Bihar

Earlier on Wednesday, a migrant worker from Bihar was shot dead in a targeted attack in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. The victim, identified as Raju Shah, was rushed to a hospital but died during treatment. This incident comes on the heels of another shooting in south Kashmir’s Herpora, where a resident of Dehradun was targeted but survived. In a separate incident, two workers from Punjab were shot dead in Srinagar in February, with a later connection to Pakistan.

Condemnations of the attack were made by PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and the National Conference. Mehbooba Mufti expressed her condolences to the victim’s family and condemned the act of violence. The National Conference also denounced the killing, emphasizing that such acts of terror hinder peace in J&K. In a separate event, two suspected terrorists were arrested from Bijbehara on the same day, and arms and ammunition were recovered from them.

This underscores the ongoing security challenges in the region.
