2024 Lok Sabha Elections: Revanth Reddy’s NDTV Interview on BJP’s Mission South and Lok Sabha Seats. admin, April 18, 2024 Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who led his party to victory in last year’s Assembly election, expects the INDIA bloc to win between 115 and 120 of the 130 seats in the south, which would greatly boost their chances to defeat the Prime Minister’s party. He believes the BJP will only secure 12-15 seats in the south and is confident that the INDIA bloc will win all 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala. In the 2019 election, the Congress and its allies swept the state of Telangana, winning 64 out of 119 seats. The BJP’s performance was modest, winning just eight seats out of 111 contested. Now, the BJP has announced a ‘Mission South’ in an attempt to achieve its target of 400 seats in this election, focusing on the southern states including Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala, as well as the Union Territory of Puducherry. However, the ruling CPIM and Congress in Kerala have failed to agree on a seat-share deal and will compete against each other and the BJP. Mr. Reddy is confident that the BJP’s mission in the south will not be successful, comparing it to his own previous claims of winning 100 seats but only securing 39. He firmly believes that the voters will teach the BJP a lesson in the upcoming election. Indian Politics
