Ex-Classmate Stabs Woman 7 Times in Karnataka College After Advances Rejected

The victim in this tragic incident was identified as Neha Hiremath, the daughter of Congress corporator Niranjan Hiremath. Neha was a first-year Master of Computer Applications student at the BV Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology in Hubballi. The assailant, Fayaz, who was also a former student at the same college, was arrested by the police.

Reports suggest that he attacked Neha because she had rejected his advances. The events unfolded on a Thursday around 5 pm when Neha was walking inside the campus. CCTV footage captured the brief exchange between Neha and Fayaz before he assaulted her, leading to her tragic death.

Following the attack, Fayaz fled the scene, but was apprehended by the authorities within 90 minutes. Neha’s mother expressed her disbelief and anguish, stating that she had spoken to her daughter just moments before the attack occurred. She held onto the hope that her daughter was still alive, unable to accept the tragic reality.

The emotional impact of the incident is further illustrated through the mother’s reluctance to see her daughter in a state of harm. Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar provided information about the incident, stating that Neha was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
