Joe Biden, US President, alleges that his uncle was “eaten by cannibals” in WWII.

President Biden recently spoke about his uncle, Ambrose Finnegan, during which he claimed that his uncle’s body was eaten by cannibals and was never found after a plane crash during World War II. According to the president, his uncle served in the Army Air Corps and flew reconnaissance missions over war zones. He stated that his uncle’s plane was shot down in New Guinea, where it was believed that cannibals resided.

However, the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency’s account of the incident differs from the president’s claim, stating that the aircraft crashed after both engines failed at low altitude and that an aerial search party found no trace of the missing aircraft or its crew members. The report from the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency also mentioned that Second Lieutenant Ambrose J. Finnegan, President Biden’s uncle, has not been associated with any remains recovered from the area after the war and is still unaccounted-for. As a result, Second Lieutenant Finnegan is memorialized on the Walls of the Missing at the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines.

Despite President Biden’s account of his uncle’s death, the White House Deputy Press Secretary, Andrew Bates, emphasized that the president is proud of his uncle’s service and highlighted his story to advocate for honoring the commitment to support and care for military personnel and their families. Bates added that President Biden reiterated the importance of equipping and taking care of those who serve in the military, emphasizing that American veterans are not “suckers” or “losers.”
