Rejects Advancements, Former Classmate Stabs Woman 7 Times at Karnataka College

The victim in this case was the daughter of a Congress corporator, Neha Hiremath. She was a first-year Master of Computer Applications student at BV Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology in Hubballi. Neha had known her attacker, Fayaz, from their time studying together at the college.

The attack occurred while Neha was walking inside the campus, when Fayaz confronted her. CCTV footage showed a verbal exchange between them before Fayaz attacked Neha, stabbing her multiple times. Following the attack, Neha’s mother expressed her disbelief and devastation, sharing that she had spoken to Neha over the phone just moments before chaos erupted.

Unfortunately, Neha was rushed to the hospital and declared brought dead. Despite the tragedy, the accused was swiftly apprehended by the police within 90 minutes of the incident. Hubballi Dharwad Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar stated that the accused and the victim had known each other, and further details would be revealed following the accused’s interrogation.

Meanwhile, a group of right-wing activists gathered outside the police station, expressing their outrage and calling for justice.
