He expressed his gratitude to those who participated in the first phase of voting and emphasized the overwhelming support received. The Election Commission reported a high voter turnout in the 102 constituencies across 21 states and Union Territories during the initial phase of the seven-phase elections. The voting process was largely peaceful, with a voter turnout of 69.43 percent. However, there were reports of violence in certain areas, such as West Bengal and Manipur, where incidents of disruption and EVM tampering were recorded. The elections in Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tamil Nadu and the Union Territories of Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep were completed in a single phase. Notably, the residents of 56 villages in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, were able to cast their votes in polling booths located within their own villages for the first time.
