The actor and her husband, Bhuvann Ponnannaa, were harassed and threatened for speaking in the local language while dining at a restaurant in Bangalore. Poonacha detailed the events, explaining that while leaving the restaurant, they were confronted by two men who began arguing about their vehicle’s size, ultimately escalating to verbal abuse and attempted physical assault.

The situation worsened as more men joined the group, resulting in further harassment and an attempt to snatch her husband’s gold chain. The actor revealed that even after seeking help from a police official, they received no assistance, with the officer showing indifference and prioritizing his own activities over the distressing incident. Despite the ordeal, Poonacha did not file a police complaint out of concern for her family’s safety.

Notably, the local police, while acknowledging the incident, stated that they had not received a formal complaint but were awaiting further action on the matter. Poonacha’s decision not to pursue a police complaint was driven by prioritizing the safety of her family.
