Harshika Poonacha and Husband Attacked by Mob in Bengaluru, India

Actor Harshika Poonacha recently shared a distressing incident on social media, involving her and her husband being harassed for speaking in their local language. The actor, known for her work in Kannada movies, revealed that a group of men confronted them at a restaurant in Bangalore, before attacking and attempting to rob them.

In a detailed Instagram post, Poonacha described the events, stating that after leaving the restaurant, they were accosted by individuals who began arguing about their vehicle’s size. The situation escalated when the men began verbally abusing and physically threatening them, particularly taking issue with their use of the Kannada language.

The situation further deteriorated as the group of men multiplied, attempting to snatch her husband’s gold chain and causing damage to their car. Poonacha also expressed disappointment with the local police’s response, highlighting their lack of assistance and the dismissive attitude of an Assistant Sub-Inspector.

Despite the disturbing encounter, Poonacha mentioned that they did not file a police complaint as their priority was ensuring their family’s safety. The police confirmed that no formal complaint had been lodged yet, stating that the concerned parties had been approached and requested for additional time to file a complaint.
