Tragic Instagram Reel Attempt Ends in Fatality for 21-Year-Old in UP Village

A 21-year-old man tragically died while attempting to film an Instagram reel in Uttar Pradesh. Shivam Kumar was hanging upside down from a flag post on the roof of a school as his friends recorded the stunt.

His goal was to raise a flag on the pole while upside down, but the cemented pole collapsed under his weight, leading to his death. The incident occurred on Thursday evening at a Junior High School in Khairada village in Janpad Banda.

Shivam had gone to the school after dropping off his father from the railway station. His friends, Anu and Ankit, were already there when he arrived.

They all climbed onto the school’s roof, unaware that it would be Shivam’s last Instagram stunt. As they started recording the reel, the pole fell and Shivam was crushed beneath it, resulting in his immediate death.

Shivam’s Instagram feed showcased several similar stunts, where he could be seen hanging upside down from trees and ceilings. His grief-stricken father, Vardani, works as a laborer, while Shivam was employed at a water pouch factory.

Ram Mohan Rai, the officer in charge of Matoundh police station, stated that no formal complaint has been lodged by the family at this point.
