Iran Warns Israel of Maximum Level Response in Ongoing Israel-Iran Tensions

Amirabdollahian stated that the drones in question were more akin to toys used by children rather than actual military drones. He also emphasized that it had not been proven to Iran that there was a connection between these drones and Israel. He added that Iran was investigating the incident and noted that media reports were inaccurate according to Tehran’s information.

Iranian media and officials described a small number of explosions as a result of air defenses intercepting three drones over Isfahan in central Iran. They referred to the incident as an attack by “infiltrators”, rather than by Israel, signaling a reluctance for retaliation. Amirabdollahian warned that if Israel retaliated and acted against Iran’s interests, Tehran’s response would be immediate and at the maximum level.

There were no comments from Israel regarding the incident. Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the White House claimed no involvement or comment, respectively. On April 13, Iran launched an attack on Israel in response to an airstrike on April 1 that destroyed a building in Iran’s embassy compound in Damascus, killing several Iranian officers.

The U.S. and its allies aimed to ensure that any further retaliation from Iran would be measured to avoid escalation, and they tightened sanctions on Iran. Israel remained silent on plans for further action. The conflict between Israel and Iranian proxies in Gaza has intensified over the last six months, raising concerns about the potential for direct confrontation.

Israel’s military offensive has resulted in numerous casualties in Gaza, and airstrikes on Friday continued to cause destruction and loss of life. The Gaza health ministry reported numerous casualties, including children and residents being forced to evacuate their homes prior to airstrikes. Israel’s government did not respond to requests for comments on the situation.
