Sarvesh Singh, BJP’s Candidate in Moradabad, Dies a Day After UP Constituency’s Polls

BJP’s Moradabad candidate Sarvesh Singh, a long-standing political figure with experience as a five-time MLA and one-time MP, passed away a day after the first phase of general elections in Uttar Pradesh. He had been unwell for some time and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delhi. Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary confirmed the news of his passing, mentioning that he had been suffering from throat issues and underwent an operation.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences, describing the loss as a great one for the BJP Parivaar and offering prayers for the departed soul and his family. Moradabad, a key constituency in Western UP, was previously won by the Samajwadi Party in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. It comprises five Vidhan Sabha segments and this time, Ruchi Veera is contesting on the Samajwadi Party ticket as part of the opposition’s INDIA bloc.
