2024 Lok Sabha Elections: PM Narendra Modi Uses Manmohan Singh’s Muslim Remark to Criticize Congress

In a recent rally, Prime Minister Modi made strong statements against the Congress Party, particularly targeting their manifesto and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He criticized a proposal in the Congress manifesto which suggested calculating the gold owned by mothers and sisters to distribute the property. PM Modi questioned whether hard-earned money should go to infiltrators and whether governments have the right to confiscate property earned through hard work. To support his claims, the BJP posted a 22-second video of Dr. Singh’s speech from December 2006, where Singh talked about the priorities of the government and mentioned the empowerment of minorities, specifically the Muslim minority.

The Congress has faced criticism from the BJP and the Prime Minister for this statement made by Dr. Singh in 2006. In response, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused PM Modi of spreading lies to divert public attention from real issues and emphasized the importance of voting on issues such as employment and the future of the country. Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera accused PM Modi of continuing to tell lies in order to win elections. Additionally, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized PM Modi’s speech, stating that the entire world knows about his tendency to spread falsehoods.

The Lok Sabha elections, which are being conducted in seven phases, began on Friday, and the counting of votes is scheduled for June 4th.
