Local officials arrived at his residence with a bulldozer and posted a demolition notice. The woman, following the assault, was initially taken to a Gwalior hospital and later referred to Delhi. Her face was visibly bruised and swollen, with her eyes nearly closed due to the inflammation. After his arrest, the police took Ayan Pathan back to the crime scene and recovered a belt, Fevikwik, and a plastic pipe that were allegedly used during the attack. Ayan Pathan and his brother work as laborers, and the police also asserted that Ayan Pathan was involved in drug use. A neighbor informed reporters that he was known for his confrontational behavior within the community.
