Dhani Ram Mittal: Thief masquerading as a judge, granting bail to criminals, passes away at 85 admin, April 21, 2024 The police announced that a man named Mittal passed away on Thursday at the age of 85 due to health problems. Mittal had a notorious history, having been implicated in over 150 theft cases in Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, and Rajasthan. He had a lengthy criminal record, having been incarcerated more than 90 times for crimes such as theft, cheating, impersonation, and forgery. Sources in the police revealed that Mittal’s criminal activities stretched back to 1964 when he was first involved in a case of cheating. Additionally, he was known to have stolen cars from the parking lot of Jhajjar court in Haryana and even posed as a judge, issuing orders to release prisoners serving long sentences. Despite being well-educated, with a BSc degree from Rohtak and an LLB from Rajasthan, Mittal engaged in criminal activities. He worked as a clerk for various attorneys and even managed to forge documents to secure a job as a station master, a position he held from 1968 to 1974. In 2016, at the age of 77, Mittal was arrested for stealing a car in Rani Bagh, marking his 95th arrest. He was cremated at Delhi’s Nigambodh Ghat by his son.
