Doordarshan anchor Lopamudra Sinha blacked out during a live broadcast. Amid intense heat, Sinha fainted while reading a heatwave update on air as her blood pressure suddenly dropped. She could be heard slurring while reading before blacking out. In a video shared on her Facebook page, she mentioned that the teleprompter faded and she collapsed on her chair.

Sinha attributed her fainting to the intense heat and a sudden drop in her blood pressure. She mentioned that there was extreme heat inside the studio due to a snag in the cooling system. Sinha explained that she had felt unwell and parched before the morning broadcast on Thursday, and even though she never felt the need to drink water during broadcasts in her 21-year career, she had asked for water during the recent broadcast. After drinking water, she completed two stories but fainted before finishing two others.

She emphasized the importance of staying hydrated to prevent heat illness, expressing gratitude to those who came to her aid and managed the broadcast after she fainted. Sinha also apologized to her channel and advised viewers to take care of themselves during the scorching heat. She provided an update on the ongoing heatwave affecting certain regions and detailed the temperature thresholds for a heatwave.
