Diamonds Worth Millions Discovered in Noodles at Mumbai Airport; Passenger Taken into Custody

Four passengers were arrested after customs officials seized over 6.8 kg of gold worth Rs 4.44 crore and diamonds valued at Rs 2.02 crore over the weekend. The customs official released this information late on Monday night.

An Indian national traveling from Mumbai to Bangkok was caught smuggling diamonds hidden in packets of noodles inside his trolley bag. The passenger was arrested after being intercepted, according to the official.

Additionally, 10 Indian nationals, two from Dubai, two from Abu Dhabi, and one each from Bahrain, Doha, Riyadh, Muscat, Bangkok, and Singapore, were intercepted and found carrying 6.199 kg of gold, worth Rs 4.04 crore. The release did not provide further details but mentioned that the gold was “concealed in the rectum, on body and inside the baggage.”
