Sanju Samson receives backing for India captaincy following Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya snubs

Harbhajan Singh has been tipped by many to become India’s full-time white-ball captain after Rohit Sharma, but he has shared some different ideas. After Rajasthan Royals’ 9-wicket win over Mumbai Indians, Bhajji expressed his opinion on Twitter that Sanju Samson should walk into the Indian team for the T20 World Cup and be groomed as the next T20 captain for India after Rohit.

He also praised Yashasvi Jaiswal’s performance, stating that it is a proof of class being permanent. Samson has been in splendid form for the Royals in the IPL 2024 season, leading the franchise to the top of the standings after 8 games.

He has accumulated a total of 314 runs from 8 games at an average of 62.80 and a strike rate of 152.42, making him the second-highest run-scorer for his franchise this term. In contrast, Hardik Pandya has not performed well in the season so far, as a batter, bowler, or captain.
